Advertising is always the first business to feel a downturn but also is always the first to feel the upswing. I can tell you first hand that this is absolutely true! My graphic design/advertising business has really picked up the last few months when all other companies are really hurting and cutting back. I believe everyone else is feeling the ripples of what has been happening for the last seven or so years.
At first my thought was that the upswing in my work load was just pent up demand. But now I think we may be at the end of this insanity and 2009 may not be as bad as everyone thinks! I noticed a huge interest right after I sent around a e-blast promoting my services.
Since my business is all about creativity and selling products in a way that catches attention, my e-blast had to be really creative in nature. Headline and graphic worked together to get across the idea that ChaRene Graphic Design has the creative ability to sell your product or service and get you noticed. I have created many of these blasts for my clients but decided it was time to do one for myself.
I have also found that offering a cash incentive for current customers to refer my services has worked. Sometimes people don't even care about getting the cash reward. They are just happy to help me out when they know that I am looking for referrals. Sometimes customers don't know or realize you want referrals unless you ask. How bazaar is that?
Anyone interested in seeing my e-blast self promotion can send me their email address and I will forward it to them. You can contact me through my website at http://www.charene.net/ . My website also shows e-blast samples I have done for others under web services. I also publish a blog on advertising and marketing tips that is linked to my web site. Stay Positive, this recession/depression/insanity is almost over!:)!

We just changed our name to Charene Creative which better reflects the scope of our services both online and through traditional media. Check out our new logo and website at http://www.ChareneCreative.com
